v sobotu je v kobyliském sboru brigáda. V celém sborovém domě proběhne jarní úklid a my z Logosu jsme srdečně vítáni jako na kterékoliv jiné kobyliské akci.
Taková brigáda je vítaná příležitost, jak oplatit kobyliskému sboru pohostinnost a přátelství. Budu moc rád, když se sejdeme v co největším počtu. Pokud je pro vás devátá hodina příliš časná, nebude vadit, přijdete-li později, co nejdříve během dopoledne. Abychom měli nějakou představu, kolik nás bude, prosím vás o zprávu, zda se chystáte.

Scholarship available for MA in Development Studies with focus on decent work for lesbian, gay, trans- and intersexual (LGBTI) persons
The German NGO Dreilinden gGmbH has granted the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam (ISS) again two scholarships for capacity building in the area of decent work for lesbian, gay, trans- and intersexual (LGBTI) persons. Dreilinden provides a scholarship for an MA student from the Global South and East. The selected applicant will participate in the 2015/2016 ISS MA Programme in Development Studies, major Social Policy for Development (SPD) with a specialisation in the area of work/labour. Eligible applicants are nationals of a developing or transition country and have a documented background in work/employment/labour rights for LGBTI persons.

The scholarship covers all study-related expenditures, including the fee, travel, lodging, and meals, for the whole 15.5 month study period (1 September 2015 – 15 December 2016).

To apply, please send a motivation letter, relating to your experiences in the area of work, employment or labour rights for LGBTI persons, and CV to the WE convenor, Professor Dr. Irene van Staveren, via e-mail atstaveren@iss.nl. The application deadline for the Dreilinden-ISS Scholarship is on May 15, 2015.

In the week before this year’s International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia (IDAHOT) on May 17th, numerous prayer vigils in remembrance of victims of homophobia will once again be held in several Italian cities, as well as in various other countries in Europe and South America.
This initiative involves an increasing number of gay Christian groups, various Christian communities (Catholics, Waldensians and Baptists) and many organizations or church groups from several cities.

“I praise you because I am awesomely made, wonderfully; your works are wonders. My soul knows it very well” (Psalm 139, 14). This year, we will pray with the words of Psalm 139 that proclaims how God made us like wonders. Nobody has the right to exclude any creature on God’s name. We will pray all together to be light of hope in our societies, in our churches, in Italy and on the world.

The words of praise and hope contained in Psalm 139 have been the most voted on the online poll thrown by the Italian website Progetto Gionata in close cooperation with the European Forum of LGBT Christian Groups and with the Commission on Faith and Homosexuality of the Italian Baptist Methodist and Waldensian Churches.

Over the years, the prayer vigil experience has been positive. It has shown that, even if only a few people respond at first, you mustn’t stop knocking on the door. As the organizers say, “If you join us in prayer, a sign of hope will grow stronger and more meaningful, and we’ll be able to lay firm foundations for a future where gays and lesbians will be warmly welcome in churches.”

Prayer vigils in remembrance of victims of homophobia will be held in Italy with the support of Gionata, the Italian Project on Faith and Homosexuality, and in Europe with the support of the European Forum of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Christian Groups, and and in South America.

The IDAHO Committee has commented that “this will be the initiative 9th annual edition-started in Florence in 2007– which, in just a few years, has blossomed into a truly international demonstration of solidarity, and has become a key feature of the global May 17th commemorations.”
An initiative where “People of faith from all different religions, spiritualities and denominations are welcomed to join the call, by holding vigils or other services, joining in prayer or other ritual observance.”
